Design and physicochemical characterization of novel hybrid SLN-liposome nanocarriers for the smart co-delivery of two antitubercular drugs

In the present work a novel hybrid system for delivery of two first-line antitubercular drugs, rifampicin (RIF) and isoniazid (INH), was designed. order to control release drugs improve efficiency conventional carriers, like liposomes or solid lipid nanoparticles (SLNs), new systems were developed by embedding SLNs into lecithin-based through reverse-phase evaporation method. The characterized compared in terms size, encapsulation efficiency, morphology, drug release. Detailed structural data further evidence successful formation obtained applying small-angle neutron scattering (SANS). displayed particle size comparable high efficiency. Morphological results atomic force microscopy (AFM) highlighted possible presence phospholipid bilayer; this hypothesis supported slower vitro hydrophilic INH SLNs.
